Dolphin tour (Kizimkazi South Coast)

A priceless excursion is definitely swimming with dolphins. We start early and should ensure that you get to swim with the dolphins. Once we arrive at Kizimkazi a boat will take you out in search of the spot where the dolphins will throw themselves into the air and twirl. You can jump in the ocean where they will not hesitate interacting. This tour also offers an opportunity to snorkel around the coral reef in the surreal waters of Zanzibar.

 

 

Jozani Forest

Jozani Forest is located about 35 km south-east of Stone Town. It is a conservation project aimed at preserving some of the last indigenous forests on the island, think Jurassic Park set. It is the home to the rare “Red Colobus” monkeys, which are found only on Zanzibar.

A highly recommended tour is exploring the fantastic coral reefs of Zanzibar are ideal for snorkelling and diving. There are probably still undiscovered dive sites with an extraordinary reef-life of colourful coral gardens and fish of all shapes and sizes, unique in the entire world. It is also possible to rent a local fishing boat in Pongwe and Village for a memorable fishing or snorkelling trip.


Prison Island

Prison Island is one of the nearest islands to Stone Town, just 15-20 minutes by boat. Formerly a treatment centre for people who were diseased with leprosy, it is now the home of giant tortoises imported from the Seychelles in the late 19th century. Prison Island has also a remarkable coral reef ideal for snorkelling.

 

Spice Tour

The spice tour is probably the best way of seeing the countryside around Stone Town. It will give you an in-depth lesson on spices grown on the island, such as cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, pepper, ginger, chillies or vanilla, including their uses in cooking, cosmetics and traditional medicine.

Stone Town’s labyrinth of narrow streets was declared to UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 and was praised by UNESCO as "an outstanding material manifestation of cultural fusion and harmonization".

A wide range of tours are available through our management company. Depending on your request we can organise for you group or individual trips. The group excursions provide a better value for money while the individual ones, more privacy. 

Each hotel has a vehicle assist guest to venues and a guide is provided. The following tours we consider as being the most popular and worth doing. The cost for our tours varies respective of size of groups, distances and fuel prices.

If you interested in Deep sea fishing feel free to ask as this is available of the coast of Machmvi. All interested guests are collected and entertained by the South African skipper and his local crew. You can choose between a half day fishing trip and a full day fishing trip.

There are plenty of experienced divers to take you out for the day if you are interested in diving and improving your grading.
