Matemwe Village only 20min by car from Nungwi and 15min from Kendwa offers an affordable and desirable place to spend one’s holiday. There are only a handful of hotels here ranging from low  to a 5 star accommodation.

The serenity of this so typical Zanzibar beaches are large stretches of the unspoiled white sand and it is only perturbed by the local fisherman and the so charming dhows. A few coral rocks down the beach add to the picturesque setting. The extremely quaint village is set in white sand and tucked away from any main roads. Less busy than the North Coast here you can experience the true Zanzibar culture and where, at times, you feel you might be the only person on that beach. The village life here is as simple as true Zanzibar goes.

Visible from the shore only barely few miles away is the exclusive island Mnemba island, the islands best diving spot. The entire Zanzibar North East Coast is protected from the fierce waves of the Indian Ocean by a coral reef, creating big tides and spectacular scenery.
