Jambiani Village and Beach

On the East Coast of Zanzibar, Jambiani is one of the largest  village on the island.  The Jambiani Village stretches along with its beautiful  beach  over several kilometres down the coast. 

One can walk through the village observing the everyday life of the locals and visit the only few little craft shops this island has to offer apart of Stone Town. Local women here harvest the seaweed for export, you’ll be able to see the farms with the tide going out. Men use the tide to go fishing in their traditional dhow boats.

Swimming here is tide dependant but it makes for spectacular scenery. The beaches become extra wide exposing the most exotic shells and only after a short walk out towards the reef one is rewarded with a personal bank of white sand and swimming pools of incredible clear turquoise water.

The Village can be reached after about 1h drive from Airport and Stone Town.

Zanzibar Hotel Group M1(Sau Inn) Hotel

The Zanzibar Hotel Group M1(Sau Inn) Hotel is among one of the oldest hotels on the island. The family owned hotel is set on large grounds of very well kept garden of lush bougainvillea, palm and coconut trees along other tropical vegetation which keeps the resort cool and shady even in the hottest months of the African Summer. Numerous paths lead to the 39 charming bungalows which are sheltered from the beach for privacy.

The staff is very relaxed, extremely friendly and helpful. Above the reception and the breakfast area, there is a further restaurant set on a deck allowing for magnificent views over the peaceful Indian Ocean and at night for full moon romantic setting. The restaurant is very popular due to its delicious dishes and life music entertained by local bands.

A large swimming pool and the pool bar allows for cosy times away from the beach. This could easily be an ideal family holiday spot due to its facilities and service. While for others there is a set of tanning beds slightly raised from the beach for better ocean views and then there is the infinitely long stretch of unspoilt white beach right at the door.
